HeartMath®
Learn to work with your heart-brain connection so you can steady your inner waves, regulate stress, and move through life with greater clarity and ease.
What Is HeartMath®?
HeartMath® is a set of simple, science-based tools that help you reduce stress, build resilience, and feel more balanced by learning to work with your heart-brain connection.
You can think of your internal state like the ocean. When stress is high, the waves feel choppy and unpredictable. When your system is more balanced, the waves become smoother and more steady.
This shift is reflected in heart rate variability—a natural rhythm in your body that changes based on stress and emotional state. HeartMath® uses simple breathing and awareness techniques to help you gently shift those internal waves, moving from a reactive state into one that feels more calm, clear, and steady.
These changes aren’t just something you feel—they’re measurable. Research suggests that practicing coherence can support emotional regulation, clearer thinking, and overall well-being.
In some sessions, we may use real-time biofeedback to help you see these patterns as they change—building awareness and confidence in your ability to shift your state.
HeartMath® May Be a Fit If You’re Experiencing…
You don’t need a diagnosis or a crisis to benefit from this work.
Many people come to HeartMath® simply because something feels a little off—like their internal waves are more choppy than steady.
Wherever you are right now, HeartMath® meets you there—gently, without judgment.
You feel more easily overwhelmed or reactive, or like you’re always “on edge” trying to keep up
Your mind feels busy or scattered, making it harder to focus, think clearly, or respond the way you want to in the moment
You notice stress building in your body—or feel disconnected from your usual sense of calm and clarity—and aren’t sure how to shift it
How HeartMath® Works
The Heart-Brain Connection
Your heart has its own complex nervous system—sometimes called the “heart brain”—and it plays a powerful role in how you think, feel, and respond to stress.
You can think of your internal state like the ocean. When stress is high, it becomes harder for the heart, brain, and nervous system to work together efficiently. HeartMath® techniques help create a more coherent rhythm, allowing the system to function with greater ease.
HeartMath® techniques help bring those waves into a smoother, more ordered rhythm—what’s known as coherence. This is a measurable state where your heart, brain, and nervous system begin working together more efficiently.
As this shift happens, many people notice less tension, clearer thinking, and a greater sense of calm and control in the moment.
It’s a bit like driving a car—when your system is out of sync, it can feel like pressing the gas and brake at the same time. Coherence helps everything work together more smoothly.
In some sessions, we use real-time HRV biofeedback so you can actually see this change happening—turning an internal shift into something visible and reinforcing your ability to create it again.
Instead of trying to think your way out of stress, these tools help shift your state at the physiological level—creating change from the inside out.
With biofeedback, you can watch your heart rhythm patterns change in real time—helping you build awareness, confidence, and trust in your ability to shift your state.
While HeartMath® includes breath and awareness, it also helps you shift into more renewing emotional states—so you feel more energized, clear, and able to engage.
These techniques are designed to be used in real life—whether you have a few minutes or just a few breaths in the middle of your day.
